Revision A
Time… the reason that doctors don’t treat root cause of the symptoms from which you suffer. The natural process of root cause holistic healing in the body takes time and a good deal of it. So, if you are looking to take a magic pill and be pronounced “all better”, you are in the wrong place. The best thing we can do is study the issue, remove the barriers to healing and supplement with the products that will promote a natural and mood elevating root cause holistic healing. You can find good folks who produce pure and natural botanical materials to optimize the dietary supplementation side of the equation, but the barriers must be dealt with on an individual basis as they are unique to everyone. And because nearly all system dysregulation (called disease within the medical community) in the body has its origins in inflammation(1)(4), this is precisely the place to start. I have come to find that chronic inflammation is the root cause of most system dysregulation; especially those that have grown near exponentially over the past few decades(3). And until this vicious inflammatory cycle is reigned in, healing within the body cannot begin – no matter what magic pill the pharmaceutical industry promises next.
What are my Barriers?
Now that we know the root cause of most system dysregulation, let’s look at the barriers. What kind of barriers must you remove? For some it is getting adequate sleep as the body cannot heal without sleep. Receiving inadequate sleep can produce a down-ward spiral of inflammation as a lack of sleep adds stress to the body, more stress produces more inflammation, more inflammation produces more pain, more pain provides the body with less quality sleep. Around-and-around it goes. For others it is drinking alcohol which floods the body with sugars and toxins, leaving the body in an inflammation storm that, if repeated often enough, can cause chronic inflammation leading to numerous inflammatory system dysregulations, bodily tissue damage throughout the circulatory and digestive systems specifically, but many other systems as well. Chronic inflammation due to chronic alcohol consumption causes intestinal damage leading to permeability (or leaky gut) which allows toxins to enter the bloodstream by leaching though the ravaged lining of the intestines. The presence of these toxins in the blood stream causes the immune system to go into overdrive in an attempt to cleanse them from the body. Chronic inflammation even causes the malfunction of the immune and lymphatic systems and can even alter cellular signaling – turning healthy cells into cancerous, tumor cells.
The alcohol is eventually purged, but the toxins and foreign material that leach through the intestinal walls remain in the blood stream and build into yet another symptom here and another symptom there. Symptoms lead to pill and pill lead to symptoms (see the blog The Epiphany Moment). And there is no exit ramp for the hamster wheel, unless you are willing to deal with this barrier. For other folks, the issue might be found in the vise of sugars and sweets. As you can imagine, this vice takes a very similar path to the one mentioned above for alcohol because they both become blood sugar and toxins which generate inflammation storms. Whatever your barriers are, they must be identified and dealt with. Each barrier provides a hinderance to reaching your health goals and if you are not ready to lay them down yet, that is okay, but you might as well save your money and return when you are serious about your health. For those that are ready to lay down those things that need to be purged from your daily routine so that you can achieve your health goals, welcome! You are among friends who will support you and pray for you. Please proceed and I will enlighten you to the only path I am familiar with to achieve root cause holistic healing. If you know of another, please share it so we can enjoy enlightening each other.
How to Bring Holistic Healing?
Now, this would be the prudent part of the conversation where I state that I am not a medical professional and am not giving medical advice. I am, however, as the category name of this blog suggests, explaining what I have come to believe along the path of my own root cause holistic healing journey in the hope that it can assist some of you who are on a similar path. Now that the disclaimer is out of the way, let’s proceed to the meat of the issue. I have found it best to use a multi-pronged approach to the root cause holistic healing of system dysregulation. The first step is to list your symptoms. This should allow you to define the system or systems that have become dysregulated. Once the system(s) are defined, then define the root cause(s) and the barriers to root cause holistic healing. Finally, if you are ready to deal with these barriers or habits that need to be purged from your daily life, proceed to the treatment phase. Here you will start treatment of both the root cause and the system that needs correcting while you simultaneously eliminate the barriers, improve your sleep quality and quantity (see the blog Sleep: The Greatest Single Factor for Natural Healing) and maximize the your nutrition intake (see blogs A Raw Deal: Why Kefir is the Real Superfoodand Unlocking Ancient Nutrition: Why Einkorn Wheat is Our Secret to Healing Baked Goods) so that your body has the raw materials needed to repair the internal damage as the root cause is slowly eliminated. This is the road to wellness. This is how you step off that hamster wheel of symptom/pill, symptom/pill, symptom/pill that the medical community has you on. This is the only way I know to achieve lasting root cause holistic healing, and it is my honor to share it with you.
Seeking that Treatment Plan:
In seeking treatment for your specific system dysregulation from which you suffer, please be sure to do your research or at least find someone you trust who has done research enough for us all. There are plenty of companies to choose from that blend their own botanical cocktails, but be sure that the final mixture not only addresses the nutritional compounds needed to address the dysregulation, but they should also be abundant in antioxidant compounds, from multiple botanical sources, which promote healthy blood pressure, lipid, and circulatory equilibrium, immune-modulating effects, cognitive function and contribute to the body’s natural self-regulation process. i.e.- the nutritional compounds wind the clock so that it can tick on time and regulate that ticking to continue to tick on time. Sometimes this requires using little known botanicals that might seem strange. Don’t fear the plant. Just make sure the processing of the botanicals is negligible or, if it needs processing, produces a greater bioavailability of the desired natural nutritional compounds at the end of that processing. The supplementation you choose should also promote a healthy stress regulation process because we all deal with stress and those that are sickly, even more so. A quality adaptogenic herb would do the trick here. These mysterious botanical wonders help our bodies regulate our most important systems. A quantity adaptogenic herb supports the body’s healthy adaptation to stress, promotes hormone balancing and the modulation of immune system. The last piece of the puzzle is mood elevation. This is an often overlooked, but crucial element to fighting the good fight. If we have not joy in our day, then that depression monster can seek to track us down and have us for lunch. With a natural mood elevator like St. John’s Wort, you have that subtle boost that we all could use to stay above the flood water of daily life. If you are on medication that prevents the use of St. John’s Wort, there are many other options so worry not. I hope I have conveyed that the solution needs to be well thought out and complete in scope for you to get the maximum benefit from root cause holistic healing. And you will have to remind yourself from time to time that this is a journey, not a day trip. Stay the course and can reap the benefit. Wherever you choose to heal, I pray that the hour be now, and the day be today to embark on that journey and most of all, I pray healing, holistic healing be upon you.
Peace be with you,
Thomas Storey

Awesome
Very good
Dear friends,
My apologies for such a lengthy pause in activity, but I did so with compelling cause. I had to halt everything, study up on government regulations, then rewrite and redesign everything for compliance. It has been a long journey that is yet unfinished. I had to do major rework on two pieces for this site, this one included, so I took them offline for a time to complete them. I know it looks funny to have comments on a blog that predate publication, but I ultimately decided that, for the major rewrite pieces, the date of publication should match the compliance date.
The goal is to publish a new holistic healing topic on a bi-weekly basis once everything finally returns to a state of equilibrium. Until then, please feel free to carry on in conversation here and even contact me personally on the Contact page with any questions you might have. Thank you for taking the time to comment. It was not missed, just delayed in being processed.
– Blessing be upon you.
